This workshop builds on
the MMOBE program (Master
in Management, Organization and Business
Economics) and the DEMO PhD program
(Doctorate
in Economics Management and Organisation).
The Master in Management, Organization and
Business Economics offers specialised and
advanced training in the field of business
research to initiate in business research
and its relevant dimensions, offering an
analytical focus of the managerial
decisions and problems that affect
businesses. The Doctorate in Economics
Management and Organisation is a rigorous
and internationally competitive PhD
program for training high quality and
publishable research in science based
approaches to management of organisations.
These programs pool the
efforts of three separate universities,
The Departments of Business Economics at
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, The
Department of Business
Economics at Universitat
de les Illes Balears and the Department of
Business Management
at the Universidad Pública de
Navarra.
The workshop deals with
business research questions from the
perspective of economics. The topics
covered are wide enough to include key
issues of the economics of the firm as
corporate strategy, corporate governance,
human resource management or innovation
activities, to mention some of them.
This ninth IBEW is
organised by Rafel Crespi and Lluis Bru,
Professors at the UIB. The format, as in
previous editions, will be in a day and a
half days presenting and discussing
regular research papers in a stimulating
interactive and participative
way.
The IBEW is hosted by the
Universitat de les
Illes Balears Department d'Economia de
l'Empresa at the Campus de la Carretera de
Valldemossa, km7. The Campus is located
between Palma de Mallorca and Valldemossa
(see head pictures). The workshop will
include presentations an discussions of
regular research papers related to the
topics covered by the IBEW. The workshop
will end up with a closure dinner on
Friday 12th for all participants.
